Our Final Episode… kinda

We Finished a Season!

We can't believe we made it to the end of Rebrand's first season! When we started this podcast back in June, we had no idea if we'd even get to episode 10, let alone 25. But here we are, closing out an incredible inaugural season.

Over the past six months, we've covered everything from social media strategies to pastoral burnout to our fantasies about being WWE wrestlers. Maybe not the hard-hitting United Methodist content some expected, but we had a blast making every episode.

As we reflect back on season one, a few highlights stand out:

  • Our episode on pastoral trust issues ended up being our most popular by far. It felt like one of our most authentic conversations, and it clearly resonated with a lot of listeners.

  • We loved drafting fantasy Methodist leadership teams and debating who should be the starting quarterback. Silliness at its finest!

  • Having guests like Charles Maynard expanded our perspectives. His thoughts on viewing our history as not too far removed was eye-opening.

Challenge? We had a few…

Of course, hosting a podcast has had its challenges too. Balancing entertaining content with meaningful conversations is an ongoing tightrope walk. And producing episodes with just the two of us (and our buddy Pile Driver) has led to some hilarious off-air antics. Maybe we'll share the outtakes someday!

What’s Next?

As we look ahead to season two, we're excited to expand our scope beyond just Holston and explore what's happening across the broader UMC. With General Conference coming up, there are a lot of critical conversations ahead that will shape the future of our denomination. We want to feature as many diverse voices and perspectives as possible during this historic time.

We hope you've enjoyed listening to our first 25 episodes. Please keep giving us your feedback and topic suggestions - this podcast works best as a two-way conversation. And get ready for Rebrand season two, where we'll be re-examining and re-envisioning the UMC!
